A BROAD CURRICULUM AT BOTH GCSE AND A LEVELS
Ellern Mede Schools provide a curriculum that is broad, balanced and also flexible to bespoke needs. We always meet the learning needs of the young people who are enrolled for education with us. The curriculum menu usually includes the following GCSE and A Level subjects, but is not limited to this selection:
English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, French, Spanish, German, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Art, Art & Design, Textiles, Sociology, Psychology, Drama and Music.
Ellern Mede Schools promote the ‘Five British Values’ of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs. Students are supported by the spiritual, moral, social and cultural aspects of the curriculum.
EXTRA CURRICULAR SUBJECTS AND PROJECTS
There are many opportunities to explore extra-curricular subjects. These include drama through The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Students enjoy being a part of the dramatic and musical performances that we regularly hold at the schools. On Friday afternoons, students can select their creative subjects. The results of the very talented work by our students are displayed, with their permission, around the schools and the hospitals. Creative subjects include: Photography, Clay, Printing, Textiles, Poetry and Creative Writing.
